Several people lost their lives due to the January 6th Capitol attack. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died of strokes after collapsing from hours of engagement with rioters. Capitol Police Officer Howard Liebengood committed suicide three days after the attack. Metropolitan Police Officer Jeffrey Smith committed suicide on his way back to work, days after suffering injuries defending the Capitol. Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt died of a single gunshot wound from an officer protecting the House chamber, where lawmakers were in lock-down. With drugs in her system, Trump supporter Rosanne Boyland died at the feet of rioters during the brutal west tunnel push against Metro Police. Trump supporter Kevin Greeson died of a heart attack on Capitol grounds during the riot. Trump supporter Benjamin Philips died of a stroke on Capitol grounds during the riot. Trump supporter Christopher Georgia committed suicide soon after being charged with willfully occupying Capitol grounds after curfew. In the summer following the attack, two more Capitol Police officers ended their lives: Gunther Hashida and Kyle deFreytag.
At least 140 officers sustained injuries from the flood of U.S. citizens who invaded Capitol Hill at the invitation of President Donald Trump. Officers were reportedly “pushed down stairs, trampled by rioters, punched and run over in a stampede.” One officer lost an eye, another lost a portion of his right index finger, one sustained two cracked ribs and smashed spinal discs, and others were stabbed with various objects.
Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone suffered a heart attack and brain trauma after a rioter electroshocked him repeatedly in the neck. The assailant, a Trump supporter named Daniel Rodriguez, was sentenced to 12-1/2 years in prison for the assault.
J6 Capitol Crimes attempts to raise awareness of the attack through a timeline of relevant facts. Donald Trump of necessity is the central focus of this website, and we begin our timeline with an extensive look into the former president's background, starting in the 1980s.
The January 6th attack must be confronted with honesty, and deep introspection, to confront the reality of what happened that day and prevent its repeat in the future. Without a care for truth and decency, the people strike a blow to their own institutions of government. Americans must decide whether they prefer mob rule or the rule of law—whether they prefer the falsehoods of a demagogue, or the demands of the U.S. Constitution—whether they will trample on their fellow human beings, including law enforcement, or uphold the Golden Rule—whether they will choose weakness in needless division, or choose unity in the care for human life.
We sincerely pray that Donald Trump repents, along with every Capitol rioter. Whether violent or non-violent, each played a part to intimidate governmental officers and thereby imperil the peace of our nation.

Political violence and mob rule must never be normalized—assault is the farthest thing from patriotism. We call on all Americans to stand for decency, abide by the law and Constitution, and condemn the January 6th insurrection. Regardless of political affiliation, everyone should condemn the attack on officers at the U.S. Capitol Building, condemn the kidnapping plot against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, condemn the assault against Nancy Pelosi’s husband, and condemn the assassination attempts against Donald Trump.
We must be willing to love our neighbors, respect law, and protect human life. That is true American patriotism.
